This weeks movie watching and my thoughts on them: 7/11 to 7/15
7/11
Twilight (2008)
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson
Thoughts: Huge fan of the books and this was my third watching this series. A nice teeny romance of a Gothic nature. Brings out the romantic side in you. Fun characters in that look at me I am a goth vampire with white skin. I was entertained and enjoyed the romantic vampire style and the ultimate good vampire and bad vampire angle. I have always been a vampire fan of the romantic nature subject and felt this one works in that way. Plus it has sexy vampires that all you need for a good Gothic Romance.
7/12
New Moon (2009)
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson
Thoughts: A little slow yet still has that teeny romance angle of a suffering girl with out her Bo. I felt like a teenager again, all giddy with flowers in my stomach falling in love again or at least thinking there is love. This one captures a deeper story into the focal point of the Twilight saga mixing sexy depressed vampires with hungry sexy wolves. Shirtless muscle boy's who turn into a wolves need I say more.
Eclipse (2010)
Starring: Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson
Thoughts: My personal favorite of the series, nice storyline and action, back story on characters. I enjoyed the joining of the wolves and vamps to fight a common enemy. Can't wait to see the next one. I felt happy and fulfilled with this one. I do think Jacob and Edward should just sex each other up already and Bella can join in and they can be one big happy family and get it over with. Team Jacob all the way.
My Ticket Stubs for when I went with my mom. When Eclipse was still on the theater.
7/13
Jonah Hex (2010)
Starring: Josh Brolin, Megan Fox, John Malkovich, Michael Fassbender
Thoughts: Grew up with the comic and the movie is basically what it is, a story from the pages of the comic, a little different at times than the comic book but still remained true to the pages. Action, violence and an over all good time although the storyline was a little weak but it is just a simple comic book and does not have the grand setting of Spiderman or Hulk, it's a comic western set after the Civil War. Not enough story and to short of a movie to capture all the glory of the Jonah Hex character. But still was fun to watch.
Ninja Assassin (2009)
Starring: Rain, Rick Yune, Naomie Harris, Ben Miles
Thoughts: Nice and bloody with a lot of action, CGI blood and wonderful choreographed art form of martial arts. Loved the fights, a little slow in the dialogue and acting at times but still held my attention. Loved all the
fighting and art work. Played out like a classic martial arts flick. I love Ninjas and this Ninja was a hottie. It has no real plot but who cares these type of flicks don't need plots they just need action and this one has it
and that is way it works.
7/14
The Knowing (2009)
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Chandler Canterbury, Rose Byrne, Lara Robinson
Thoughts: Interesting and a little creepy and a little all over the place making it a fun little what if watch. Not a huge Cage fan but he acted like his normal self which means his over acting talent displayed well with the movie. A nice flick that is unoriginal about the world ending with twists and little turns. Its one of those movies where you can leave the room grab a snack use the bathroom and not have to push pause. It's fun to watch nothing more.
7/15
The Sorcerer"s Apprentice (2010)
Starring: Nicolas Cage, Jay Baruchel, Alfred Molina
Thoughts: A fun action adventure mixed with special effects and comedy. Another over acted part for Cage yet it worked in great detail because these are his type of roles. I had fun with the movie, laughed a lot and was entertained until the last moment. Its senseless action packed CGI mayhem with funny laughs and awesome action to please the kid at heart in the adventure realm of imagination.
Batman (1989)
Starring: Michael Keaton, Jack Nicholson, Kim Basinger
Thoughts: To me this is the greatest reinvention of the comic book hero. I remember going to the theater back in 89 with my brother and sitting in the front row watching this modern masterpiece of action adventure and comic book style. This made the first attempt in the cinema world in creating the Dark Knight in the darker style. A perfect example of how to work a comic book movie. Great acting by both Batman and Joker. Joker was captured flawless by Jack and left a lasting impression on the cinema world. In my viewpoint a perfect flick to watch, own and enjoy over and over again.
So there is my viewing pleasure for this week. So begins another week of movies and more dorky corny and wonderful pleasure inside the cinema world.
